Network Services

The Durban Wireless Network has the following services:

Current:

  • IRC Server (Accessable from the Internet as well as the internal dwc network)
  • Windows Update Server (WSUS)
  • Asterisk VOIP Server
  • FTP Server indexing engine for search
  • Network utilisation / MRTG type stats on usage
  • DNS Servers
  • Email server (publically accessable) - <user>@dwc.za.net
  • NTP - Network time protocol server
  • Web servers for hosting web applications etc.
  • Teamspeak Server


Planned:

  • Gaming Servers
  • Antivirus definitions mirrors for common AV packages
  • MacOS Software update server
  • Podcast mirror server for popular podcasts
  • Secure offsite backups


Other

The DWC network is an IP based network - so almost anything that runs on IP could be made to work over the network - i.e. monitoring of security cameras, video and audio streaming, gaming etc.


Internet:

DWC does not offer internet access.
